Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RiseWell ("RiseWell," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the RiseWell mobile application (the "App") and our website (together, the "Services").

By using RiseWell, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

• Name — used to personalize your alarm songs and greetings.
• Language preference — used to set the App's UI language and your default alarm song language.
• Intent text — the reason you enter for waking up (e.g., "Gym at 6am"), used to generate personalized song lyrics.
• Mood/genre selections — used to select or generate alarm songs.
• Account information — if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier from that provider. You may also use the App as a Guest without creating an account.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data — device type, operating system, app version, and general usage/diagnostic information.
• Sensor data (only when you use certain wake-up challenges):
  • Accelerometer data for "Shake to Wake"
  • Step/pedometer data for "Step Counter"
  • Camera access for photo-based challenges (e.g., photographing a named object, QR/barcode scan) — images used for these challenges are processed on-device or briefly transmitted for verification and are not stored beyond completing the challenge, unless you separately choose to save a photo.

1.3 Purchase information

If you buy a custom alarm song ($0.99/₹25) or subscribe to Rise Daily, purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. RiseWell does not collect or store your payment card details. We receive limited purchase confirmation data (e.g., product purchased, transaction ID, date) to unlock the feature in your account.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Generate your personalized alarm voice/song content
• Set your default language, name, and preferences across the App
• Operate wake-up challenges you choose to use
• Process and verify purchases and subscriptions
• Maintain your account and sync alarms across sessions
• Improve app performance, fix bugs, and understand feature usage
• Communicate with you about your account or support requests

We do not sell your personal information (name, gender, or language), and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

To provide RiseWell's features, certain information is shared with the following service providers, solely to deliver the Services:

• OpenAI API — generates personalized song lyrics from your intent text and name. Data shared: name, intent text, language, mood.
• Udio API — generates the AI alarm song audio. Data shared: the lyrics generated above, mood/style selection.
• Cloudflare R2 — stores and delivers sample and generated alarm songs (CDN). Data shared: generated/sample audio files.
• Firebase (Google) — authentication (Google/Apple sign-in) and app database (Firestore) for storing alarms, profile, and purchase records. Data shared: name, email, alarm data, purchase records.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and in-app purchases. Data shared: purchase transaction data (no card details).

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy terms and security practices. We only share the minimum information necessary for them to perform their function.

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Your profile, alarms, and purchase records are stored in our Firestore database for as long as you maintain an account with us.
• Generated alarm songs are stored via Cloudflare R2 so they can be reused without repurchasing.
• If you use Guest mode, your data is stored locally on your device and/or tied to a temporary anonymous identifier, and may be lost if you uninstall the App or clear its data.
• You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).

5. Your Choices and Rights

• Access and correction — you can view and edit your name, language, and preferences anytime in Settings.
• Deletion — you may request full deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at the email below. We will delete your data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law.
• Camera/microphone/motion permissions — these are only requested when you choose a wake-up challenge that needs them, and you can disable them anytime in your device settings (this may limit related challenge features).
• Marketing communications — we do not send marketing emails unless you opt in; you may unsubscribe at any time.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (such as India's DPDP Act or the EU's GDPR), including the right to access, correct, port, or object to processing of your personal data.

6. Children's Privacy

RiseWell is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encrypted connections and access controls through our providers) to protect your information. We only collect the name, gender, and age-related information needed to generate your songs via the Udio platform.

8. International Data Transfers

Because we use service providers such as OpenAI, Udio, Cloudflare, and Firebase/Google, your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. These providers maintain their own safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
